In response to media reports covering "the adjustment of counter-attack for self-defense by the Armed Forces," the Ministry of National Defense (MND) stated today (8^th) that when a country is attacked by foreign armed forces it has, according to international law, the inherent right to use force to defend itself (right of self-defense).

    The MND further explained that if enemy aircraft or ships invade our airspace and territorial waters and cannot be removed after identification, interception, broadcasting, and eviction operations based on the country's absolute sovereignty over the territory, first-line commanders are legally authorized to take due action to remove the threat. They can adopt appropriate counter-measures for retaliation to safeguard security and national defense.
